Dear Friend of Help Now!,
Members of the local Latino community face cultural and
language barriers when coping with crises.
This makes them especially vulnerable to scams and other forms of abuse.
It is for these reasons that Help Now!
has established our Hispanic Outreach and Advocacy Program. We have seen
increased foundation (see below) and community support for this program, but we
still require additional financial support before we can reach our goal of hiring
a part-time bilingual advocate. Won't you help?

New Grant For Hispanic Outreach
In January, the Help Now! board of directors approved a new 3-year strategic plan. They prioritized hiring a part-time Hispanic outreach & advocacy coordinator to support that population. In April, the Robert and Frances Chaney Foundation of Jacksonville approved a grant to Help Now! to fund part of this new initiative. This builds on a two-year grant for this program from the United Way of Jackson County. We are waiting to hear from other foundations and are seeking donations from families and businesses in the local Latino community.
